Friday Extras: Crazy Feline Love

Happy Valentine's Day! I know this day can be a little sickening to the single and attached alike, with all its over-the-top lovey-dovey-ness, so today's edition of Friday Extras is all about love of a different variety: Love between felines and their human and animal companions.

2. Cat Mom love: No matter how many times I watch it, this video of a mom cat hugging her sleeping baby kitten makes me tear-up a little. Or a lot. Oh, just go get the tissues, already!

4. Lion hug love

One day, the lion will lay down with the lamb. And then the lion will come hug me, and there will be fuzzy, fuzzy lion hugs for everyone.

5. Cats and Books Love

For some reason, when I try to read to my cats, they just try to A) sit on the book, or B) chew the pages of the book. But this children's reading program at Berks County Animal Shelter is making reading fun for kids and lonely dogs and cats.

6. Love between sworn enemies:

This photo was a Christmas miracle. Today, it's a Valentine's reminder of why we keep Desmond around even though he makes Adam's life difficult with his messes and noisy whining (Desmond's messes and whining, that is, not Adam's).
