Fall Road Trip: Music City, USA
The final stop (outside of Texas) on our fall road trip was Nashville. After despairing of finding a reasonably-priced hotel room, we finally found a wonderful apartment to stay in via airbnb. This was our first time to use airbnb, and I would highly recommend it. I loved staying in an actual neighborhood (we were right in the heart of the Belmont university area) because we were able to get a better feel for what "real life" in Nashville was like. This part of our vacation felt like having an alternate life for a few days, making it hard to say goodbye.
Our first night in town, we heard that Jennifer Knapp was doing a reading/book signing event at a nearby bookstore, so we headed over. We had a great time meeting a singer-songwriter who was very influential to me, and we also loved browsing the unique in Parnassus books.

We ate a lot of good food and drank a lot of good coffee on this trip. My favorite coffee was at the Bongo Java across the street from our apartment.

Larry Gatlin was our host for Opry Country Classics
Goodbye, Nashville! I'll miss you and I'll enjoy visiting every week as I revel in the drama of the TV show that bears your name.
