14x14 for Feb. 14 remix

For the latest installment of posts on my 1-year No-New-Clothes Challenge, I'm doing a clothing remix. What's a clothing remix, you ask? Basically, you choose a set amount of clothing pieces for a specific period of time, and try to make multiple outfits using only those pieces. For some great examples, check out Kendi Everyday's 30x30 remix series, and these capsule collections from Audrey at Putting Me Together

Every year around Valentine's Day, my outfits become an explosion of pink, red, and hearts. I know it's silly, but I just love it. This year, I'm limiting myself to 14 pieces for 14 outfits starting on Feb. 1st and finishing on Valentine's Day. For this remix, as with the no-new-clothes challenge, shoes and accessories don't count as part of the 14 pieces.

clockwise from top left: Black yoga pants (aka reinforced leggings), Ross; dark wash blue jeans, Ross; red jeans, Wal-Mart; polka-dot jeans, Target.

Blush pink button-up, Ross; Chambray button-up, Old Navy; polka-heart tunic, Ross;
Berry pink long-sleeved t-shirt, Gap; Grey lightweight sweatshirt, Target;

Red dress; faux leather skirt, Target

Anyone want to join me? Wardrobe remix challenges can be a great way to help you discover clothing combinations that you wouldn't normally think of. Just post a link to your own remix in the comments section, or post outfit pictures with the #beautifulextras hashtag on instagram. Your outfits don't have to be Valentine's-themed, but this could also be a good excuse to work a little extra love into your wardrobe.
