Fall Road Trip: Chattanooga Choo Choo

After Memphis, we headed to Chattanooga with plans to stay in a kitschy Victorian train-car-turned-hotel-room and soak up some nature at Ruby Falls and Rock City. What we didn't know was that we would find the Loretta Lynn Kitchen on our way. It had this guy out in front:

While Loretta Lynn fans would no doubt love the kooky collection of various Loretta Lynn paraphernalia lining the walls of this place and Lynn's music playing on constant rotation, I was most impressed by the apple pie, served hot, with ice cream.

Ruby Falls in Chattanooga. If we had been there on a weekend, we could have done a haunted falls tour.

Rock City, home to many gnomes just trying to live a normal life.

I think he got his wish. :)

A cool coffeehouse in downtown Chattanooga.

Our time in Chattanooga was relaxing, especially when it rained on our last night and we got to sleep in to the soothing sounds of the rain falling on the roof of our train car. Then it was time to pack up and head to Nashville.

Next stop: Music City.
