5 Nerdy Activities for a Dallas Spring Break

Some of us in Dallas have spring break this week; some won't have it 'til next week. Either way, here are 5 things we Dallas-ites can enjoy!

1. Perot Museum

The Perot Museum has extended hours March 7-15, and is offering $5 off admission for anyone purchasing tickets after 5 pm during those days. The discount applies to combined tickets for their regular exhibit plus the new Sherlock Holmes-themed exhibit. The game's afoot!

2. Nasher Sculpture Center

The Nasher Sculpture Center is offering half off admission from March 7-15 along with lots of special activities.

3. Fellowship! The Musical Parody of Lord of The Rings

The title of this Theatre Three production says it all. It should be awesome. It runs through April 12th, so you can keep re-living that Spring break magic for a while.

4. Dallas Arboretum

This one's not all that nerdy, but it is quite springy, and the arboretum has special events happening all week this week.

5. Late Night at the DMA and Arts District Block Party

This year's spring break arts district block party takes place on March 20th. We went last year (and watched Labyrinth at the Nasher, as in the above photo) and had lots of fun, but this year promises to be even better because the theme for the evening at the DMA is Jane Austen, and there will be a costume contest, lots of screenings of Jane Austen films, and a talk from Kate Rorick, one of the writers of the Lizzie Bennett Diaries. The evening is sure to end in perfect felicity. :)

This week, I'll probably be at one or more of these fun Dallas events when I'm not immersed in a good book or still catching up on sleep from the shift to Daylight Savings Time. If you're lucky enough to have a spring break, what are you planning on doing?
