Real House Talk
The other day, a friend of mine said that I probably didn't need organizational advice because I looked so put together on my blog. Since a) I don't post many pictures of my home or do a lot of home-oriented posts, and b) I've been doing a series called Project COPE precisely because I'm not put together when it comes to home organization, I was pretty surprised by the friend's statement.
So in the spirit of lifting the Pinterest-y vale from my internet presence, here are a few shots of my home in its current, unretouched condition:
My real dining table: apparently it's more important for us to read and write there than it is to eat. Also, it was amusing for me to apply the "vignette" editing tool to these photos of ugly things. :)
My real kitchen sink -- in truth, less cluttered than usual.
My real beside-the-bed pile of clean clothes, random shoes, and an assortment of craft accoutrements.
My real entryway. Note the billion reusable shopping bags that I never bother to actually take to my car when it's time to buy groceries, the overflowing basket of cold-weather gear, the random cat toy on the floor, and the box-of-stuff-that-belongs-in-the-car.
My real life entertainment center. Mostly organized, save a few workout DVDs and a broken shelf, being supported by the box underneath. The secret to this space is the boxes, because you can't see what's in them. :)
This is my real, messy house in my real, messy life. Come on in.
